World War IIDS Jadarland
The Norwegian DS Jardarland operated on the route between Sandnes, Stavanger, and Bergen. On 31 May 1940, the vessel struck a mine and sank within minutes at Sletta, near Rødvær Lighthouse north of Haugesund. Twenty-four people were lost in the sinking, including 11 crew members, two pilots, two postal clerks, and 13 passengers.
