World War IIDS Karmøy The DS Karmøy was sunk on 28 October 1944 by British aircraft from the aircraft carrier HMS Implacable near Lødingen. The vessel was en route from Ballangen to Holtenau with a cargo of ore. Six people lost their lives in the sinking.
