World War IIDS Korsfjord
SS Korsfjord was en route from Reykjavik to Hull when, on January 21, 1941, it collided with SS Bandar Shapour in a convoy 20 nautical miles off the Butt of Lewis. Korsfjord sank, and two men lost their lives in the sinking. The rest of the crew was rescued and landed in Stornoway the same day.
