World War IISS Letty
The British SS Letty had previously sunk during the First World War, but was later raised and returned to service. On August 22, 1940, the vessel exploded by a mine off Liverpool. The ship was en route from Liverpool to Buncrana with coal. The entire crew, including one Norwegian, lost their lives in the sinking.
