World War IDS Luna
DS Luna was damaged by a torpedo from the German U-boat UC-63 on August 14, 1917, near Humber Lightship. The ship was en route from Trondheim to London carrying timber. The stewardess lost her life in the torpedo attack, and the steward and a fireman were injured. The vessel was later repaired and returned to its owners in 1919. On December 31, 1939, the ship was sunk by U-32 in the North Sea without any loss of life. (Sources: Sjøhistorie.no, uboat.net, and Morgenposten 18.08.1917)
