World War IISS Margareta
The Finnish SS Margareta was torpedoed on 9 June 1940 by the German U-boat U-46. The vessel was en route from Bathurst to Greenock carrying peanuts. Five persons, including one Norwegian, lost their lives in the sinking, while nineteen were rescued.
