World War IDS Pluton
DS Pluton was sunk by the German U-boat UB-31 on September 9, 1917. The ship was en route from Port Talbot to Rouen, France, carrying a cargo of coal. Ten people lost their lives in the shipwreck. Two lifeboats were launched from the sinking ship, and it is believed that one of the lifeboats, with the ten missing individuals, was destroyed in a subsequent explosion.
