World War IIDS Ragni
The Norwegian DS Ragni was blown up by a mine on 15 December 1939 off the Tyne, laid by German minesweepers two days earlier. The vessel was en route from Hull to Malmö with a cargo of coke. Of the 19 crew members, 6 perished in the sinking. The survivors were taken to Newcastle.
