World War IIDS Tora Elise

The DS Tora Elise was attacked by a German aircraft in the North Sea on 20 March 1940, sustaining some damage. Three men lost their lives. After the attack, the vessel was taken to Kirkwall in the Orkneys for repairs. The ship returned to Norway before the German invasion on 9 April. Tora Elise was scrapped in 1954.
