World War IIDS Vestri
The Norwegian DS Vestri operated on the Stavanger–Oslo route. About an hour and a half after departing Stavanger on 4 December 1941, the vessel was attacked by a lone British aircraft. It was hit by two bombs and caught fire. At the time, the ship had just passed the buoy at Bøskinnene off Sola. Four crew members were killed. The captain and the boatswain remained on board and managed to steer the vessel to Vistestranda, where it ultimately came to rest. There were no passengers on board at the time.
