World War IIDS Solglimt
The floating whaling factory ship SS Solglimt was captured on January 14, 1941, by the German commerce raider HSK Pinguin in the Southern Ocean whaling grounds. The ship was sent to France and renamed Sonnenburg. On June 29, 1944, it was scuttled as a blockship by the Germans in Cherbourg. The ship was salvaged after the war and scrapped in 1947.
