World War IIMK Moder II
The MK Moder II replaced the coastal route between Tromsø and Kirkenes from 1 November 1942 until it was captured by three Russian motor torpedo boats and subsequently scuttled near Kiberg on 7 May 1944. Those on board were taken to Murmansk and later returned to Norway, except for the first mate, Meyer, who is believed to have died in the Soviet Union on 6 January 1945.
