World War IIMK Store Bill
The Norwegian motor vessel Store Bill was transporting food and supplies to the population in Finnmark. On 19 July 1942, it was docked in Honningsvåg, loaded with, among other things, 20 tons of potatoes. At the same time, several German vessels were also docked there. The German ships were attacked by a group of Soviet aircraft, and Store Bill found itself caught in the bombing raid. The vessel was hit by a direct hit and caught fire. Five crew members were killed in the attack.
