World War IIMV Afrika

The Danish MV Afrika was seized by British authorities in April 1940. The vessel was torpedoed on 7 February 1943 by the German U-boat U-402 while en route between Halifax and Liverpool. Twenty-three lives were lost, and thirty-seven persons were rescued.
