World War IISS Longtaker

The Panamanian-registered SS Longtaker (formerly Danish Sessa) was torpedoed on 17 August 1941 by the German U-boat U-38 while en route from New York to Iceland. Twenty-four lives were lost in the sinking, including two Norwegians. The vessel is listed as Sessa on the memorial plaques in Minnehallen.
