World War IIMS Tudor
The Norwegian MS Tudor was en route from Melbourne to Liverpool with 3,800 tons of steel and some general cargo. The vessel was sailing in convoy from Gibraltar when it was torpedoed on 19 June 1940 by the German U-boat U-48 in position 45°10’N 11°50’W. One man was killed in the engine room. The survivors were picked up by a British escort vessel and brought ashore in Plymouth.
