World War IIMT Høegh Giant
MT Høegh Giant was torpedoed on June 3, 1942, by the German U-boat U-126. The ship was en route from Freetown to Trinidad in ballast. The entire crew survived the sinking and arrived at Devil’s Island a few days later. Fearing internment, they left after some time and were eventually picked up by two Allied ships.
