This vessel was torpedoed the day after their departure on the 3rd of November 1942 by the German uboat U-160 east of Martinique. The crew boarded the lifeboats, but since the ship was still floating they would instead start the search for three missing people. One of these were found dead, but the two others were never found. MT Thorshavet were left sinking the same day, and the survivors were rescued by a destroyer. Three men perished in the sinking.
