World War IISS Fircrest

The British SS Fircrest was torpedoed on 25 August 1940 by the German U-boat U-124. The vessel was en route from Wabana, Conception Bay, via Halifax to Middlesbrough, carrying iron ore. The entire crew of 40 perished in the sinking.
