World War IISS Magdalena

The British SS Magdalena was torpedoed on September 18, 1940, by the German U-boat U-48 south of Iceland. The vessel was en route from St. Johns to Liverpool with iron ore in convoy SC-3. The entire crew of 31 people perished in the sinking.
