World War IISS Rosario

The American SS Rosario was torpedoed on 21 February 1943 by the German U-boat U-664 west of Fastnet, Ireland. The vessel was en route from Avonmouth to New York in ballast. Thirty-three lives were lost in the sinking, while thirty persons were rescued.
