World War IISS Samuel Heintzelman

The American SS Samuel Heintzelman was torpedoed on July 9, 1943, by the German U-boat U-511. The vessel was en route from Charleston, Balboa, Fremantle, Colombo, and Karachi to Calcutta with ammunition and general cargo. The entire crew of 75 perished in the sinking.
