World War IISS Southern Princess

The British floating whaling factory SS Southern Princess was torpedoed on March 17, 1943, by the German U-boat U-600. The vessel was en route from North America to the United Kingdom carrying 19,000 tons of oil, two railway locomotives, and several landing craft on deck.
