World War IDS Gottfried
DS Gottfried was struck by a mine on August 27, 1914, northeast of Tynemouth. The ship was en route from Egersund to Blyth in ballast (without cargo). Eight people lost their lives in the shipwreck. (Source: Sjøhistorie.no)
