World War IDS Gran

DS Gran was struck by a mine on May 23, 1917, by a mine laid by the German U-boat UC-40 off Seaham. The ship was en route from Rouen, France, to Tyne in ballast (without cargo). One person lost his life in the shipwreck. (Source: Sjøhistorie.no)
