World War IDS Hesvik
DS Hesvik was struck by a mine and sunk on September 23rd, 1914, south of Longstone Lighthouse. The ship was en route from Arendal to Grimsby in ballast. Two people lost their lives in the sinking. The survivors were later rescued by a British warship.
