World War IIDS Hørda

SS Hørda was on a journey in a west-going convoy from Liverpool. The convoy disbanded 23rd of March 1941 at the position 4954N, 1910W, which is the last certain location of Hørda. The ship was most likely torpedoed by the German U-boat U-97 on the 24th March 1941 at the assumed position 49N, 23W. The weather was clear, but the torpedo(es) must have destroyed the life boats, which resulted in a very low chances of survival for the crew. The entire crew of 32 people perished in the sinking.
