World War IDS Modiva

DS Modiva was struck by a mine on January 31, 1917, by a mine laid by the German U-boat UC-47 southeast of Flamborough Head. The ship was en route from Hartlepool to Rouen, France, carrying coal. Three people lost their lives in the shipwreck. (Source: Sjøhistorie.no)
