World War IDS Nico
DS Nico was struck by a mine on December 18, 1915, by a mine laid by the German U-boat UC-3 east of the Long Sand lightship. The ship was en route from Newcastle to Boulogne carrying coke. Two persons lost their lives in the shipwreck. (Source: Sjøhistorie.no)
