World War IDS Ragnhild
DS Ragnhild (formerly Bianca) was struck by a mine on April 27, 1917, by a mine laid by the German U-boat UC-29 off Tyne. The ship was part of a convoy en route from Tyne to Skien, carrying oil, coke, and iron. A donkeyman and passenger Torbjørn Larsen from Oslo, a former shipwrecked mate, lost their lives in the shipwreck. The survivors were rescued by an escort vessel.
