World War IDS Skaala
DS Skaala was torpedoed by the German U-boat UB-35 on December 26, 1917, west of Prawle Point. The ship was en route from Port Talbot to Rouen, France, carrying coal briquettes. One person lost his life in the shipwreck. The survivors were later rescued by a British naval vessel. (Source: Sjøhistorie.no)
