World War IDS Start
DS Start was torpedoed by the German submarine UB-58 on December 21, 1917, south of St. Albans Head. The ship was en route from Swansea to Rouen, France, carrying coal. Twelve people lost their lives in the shipwreck. Two individuals were later rescued after spending 11 hours in the water and on a raft. (Sources: Sjøhistorie.no and Med norsk skib i verdenskrigen)
