World War IIDS Telnes
The DS Telnes departed New York on 9 January 1940 with a general cargo bound for the Netherlands and Belgium. On 19 January, the vessel was torpedoed by the German U-boat U-55 northwest of the Orkneys. The entire crew of 18 men perished in the sinking.
