MS Primero var på reise fra Suez og Aden med et parti salt som ballast, bestemt for Port of Spain via Cape Town. Primero var på tilbaketur etter å ha losset krigsmateriell i Midt-Østen. Skipet ble torpedert 25.oktober 1942 av den tyske ubåten U-67 i posisjon 1338N og 5355W. Torpedoen traff maskinrommet og drepte to mann der. Livbåtene ble satt på vannet etter 18 minutter. Da båtene var kommet godt klar, detonerte nok en torpedo, men skipet holdt seg flytende. Det var på det rene at skipet ikke kunne berges om man gikk om bord igjen. 40 overlevende satte seil for Trinidad, hvor de ankom 31. oktober. To personer omkom i forliset.

MV Primero was on a journey from Suez and Aden, carrying a shipment of salt as ballast, intended for Port of Spain via Cape Town. Primero was on return after delivering munitions in the Middle-East. On the 25th of October 1942, the vessel was torpedoed by a German uboat U-67 in the position 1338N, 5355W. The torpedo struck the machine room and killed two men. The lifeboats were lowered to the water after 18 minutes. When the boats were ready, another torpedo detonated, but the ship kept itself afloat. It was safe to say that the ship was impossible to save, even if they wanted to board again. 40 survivors set sail for Trinidad, on the 31st of October, they reached land. Two men perished in the sinking.
